Hymns

I am laying on Liam's floor listening to Brian Doerksen's Acoustic Hymns album. Liam is snoring in his bed! Sometimes I sing or hum old hymns to him as he falls asleep.

I love old hymns & worship songs; I grew up on them, and probably didn't appreciate them as much as I do now. I'm thankful that their words always seem to speak to my heart just at the right time. For me hymns hold sweet memories of the past of sitting in the church pew with my grandparents; they also hold hope for the future- because God does not change- for that I am thankful.

"Blessed Assurance" written in 1873 yet still moves me today!
"Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long."

"Faithful One" by Brian Doerksen
"Faithful one, so unchanging
Ageless one, you're my rock of peace
Lord of all I depend on you
I call out to you, again and again
I call out to you, again and again

You are my rock in times of trouble
you lift me up when I fall down
All through the storm
Your love is, the anchor
My hope is in You alone"
