There's always a million things I could & should be doing. Sometimes all that doesn't matter, sometimes you just have to live in the moment.
My Mom told me a story about my little brother one time. He wanted her to come and play outside with him, so she did. She told me she knew there would be a time when he wouldn't really want to play anymore, so she dropped everything she was doing and just enjoyed the moment. I don't think she would have remembered whatever house work or other work she was trying to do that day, but she remembers playing with my little brother that day.
Tonight I jumped on couch cushions with Liam and participated in some other random silliness. It's not always possible to live in the moment, but sometimes it is necessary & rewarding! I'm thankful for the times when living in the moment brings you unexpected joy & happiness!
Little bits of thankfulness...my perspective on things I'm grateful for; there are more than I could ever recount!
