Whitney and other sad stories

Well, this wasn't what I planned on writing about tonight and it is with a heavy heart that I do so. Another untimely death of such a talented person, Whitney Houston.

So what does this have to do with being thankful? I'm thankful for the life I've been given; not rich in anything monetarily speaking, not famous, my name few will remember when I'm gone.

It just amazes me how much turmoil and sadness so many "stars" go through. These people that seemingly have everything, yet in the scope of true happiness it really amounts to nothing.

I'm thankful that these events touch my heart. I cried tonight when I heard the news- I just feel sorrow that these people have everything this world could possibly offer, but no peace.

I hope Whitney along with some of the other recent big stars that passed on long before there time, finally found peace. I really believe we have no idea what happens in those few moments between life & death- I can't imagine God wouldn't meet someone in those desperate moments.

I just want to always be thankful for all I've been given. When it comes down to it money...drugs...stuff doesn't bring happiness. There really is only One true source of happiness, only One who supplies all our needs before we even ask.

R.I.P. Whitney.

  1. The thing that I am confident of, is that even though she lived life fast and fraught with turmoil, she did know the Lord, she knew Jesus and I know that in her quiet moments was able to rely on Him. Great post!
